Unbelievable story.  Justin Lee and Oliver Yeh from MIT launched a weather balloon into space, complete with a digital camera, hand warmers, a Styrofoam cooler, and a GPS equipped cell phone.  All for under $150!

A friend sent an interesting article about HTML5.  Sounds like this will open up a lot of opportunities for new innovation surrounding the web and video, though also sounds like its going to be a turf war between Microsoft, Adobe and Google over whether it will happen, and how fast.
